Corporate Controller
****Please note: Individuals considered for this role MUST be located within the Raleigh-Durham market or open to relocation.
Our growing client is seeking a Corporate Controller. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for all aspects of accounting including financial statement preparation, ad hoc reporting and analysis, management reporting, and Sarbanes- Oxley compliance. The Corporate Controller will provide senior management with timely financial information and other related special projects.
Job Description
-Lead monthly closing and all financial reporting
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including the review of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
- Review and analyze variances between actual and financial results and budgeted targets, providing narratives and recommendations for improvement
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant industry regulations
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department
- Lead the preparation of financial data for audits and coordinate with external auditors.
-Provide leadership and management of the accounting team to ensure that individual growth and continuous improvement
-Maintain cost, profit operational, and product reporting systems.
-Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition including appropriate timing/invoicing
-Manage Inventory process including physical counts
-Prepare annual business plan and monthly forecasts
-Technical accounting research as needed and document key accounting policies
-Continuously improve financial reporting processes to scale with the organization
-Assist with treasury management
-Travel within the US periodically
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field; CPA, CMA, MBA
-10+ years job experience, with minimum of 3+ years Manufacturing experience
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing an accounting team
-Strong technical accounting skills and financial acumen, with experience managing complex
budgets and forecasting models
-Proficiency in WIP-related transactions
-Transfer pricing experience, preferred
-ERP implementation experience is preferred
-Strategic mindset, with the ability to think creatively and proactively to identify opportunities
for growth and improvement
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships
internally and externally
-Strong GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and auditing practicum
-Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
