Senior Accountant, Manufacturing & Corporate Operations
Job Description
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong manufacturing and cost accounting expertise to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to operational efficiency, process improvement, and financial accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for manufacturing operations.
- Perform margin and profitability analysis by product line, location, or customer.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to monitor production costs and drive cost control initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including production and overhead cost projections.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on cost accounting.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
