Assistant Controller
Job Description
We are partnering with a growing company in the RTP/Durham area. Our client is an industry leader in their field and they are seeking an Assistant Controller who will be comfortable generating financial reports for senior management. They should track financial information in a well-organized manner and assist the Controller in all aspects related to accounting with the organization. In addition the Assistant Controller will be responsible for revenue recognition following ASC606 and contract review.
Responsibilities
- Generate financial reports for senior leadership
- Assist with month end closing including financial statements
- Monitor, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and review complex journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist with annual audit
- Review and Analyze customer contracts in accordance with ASC606
- Responsible for all revenue recognition
- Support tax compliance including franchise tax, 1099's and sales and use tax.
- Assist with process improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
- CPA is required
- 3 - 5 years experience in accounting
- Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Proficient with NetSuite
